Applications

F4H5® WashOut is a colorless, homogeneous liquid made from highly pure perfluorobutylpentane, a semifluorinated alkane. F4H5® WashOut contains no biologically active components, is chemically and physiologically inert, and non-toxic. This biocompatible solvent is used in ophthalmic surgery to remove silicone oil residues from the retina and to clean intraocular lenses after silicone oil tamponade.
