Application

F-Decalin is a colorless, homogeneous, and highly pure perfluorinated liquid that has been specifically developed for ophthalmic use. It is used as a medical device for the following indications, among others:

  • Repositioning of a detached retina

  • Treatment of large retinal tears and ocular trauma

  • Assistance with laser coagulation and cryotherapy

  • Repositioning of dislocated intraocular lenses

 

Composition

F-Decalin consists of ultra-pure perfluorodecalin, a cyclic fluorocarbon with:

  • High density: 1.91 g/cm³ at 35 ± 2 °C

  • Stable molecular structure: Only C–C and C–F bonds

  • No biologically active components

  • Sterile, inert, non-toxic
