Application
F-Decalin is a colorless, homogeneous, and highly pure perfluorinated liquid that has been specifically developed for ophthalmic use. It is used as a medical device for the following indications, among others:
Repositioning of a detached retina
Treatment of large retinal tears and ocular trauma
Assistance with laser coagulation and cryotherapy
Repositioning of dislocated intraocular lenses
Composition
F-Decalin consists of ultra-pure perfluorodecalin, a cyclic fluorocarbon with:
High density: 1.91 g/cm³ at 35 ± 2 °C
Stable molecular structure: Only C–C and C–F bonds
No biologically active components
Sterile, inert, non-toxic
